Neon Pink and Chunky Pewter Glitter

For some very complicated and technical reason that I don't understand, neons are VERY awkward to photograph. However, I gave it a go and though these photos don't quite capture the brightness, you get the idea.

I've spent the last two weeks on holiday in the US, armed with an extensive shopping list (more to come) and these polishes are two of my favourite purchases - China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy and Sephora by OPI To The Glitter End. The SOPI glitter wasn't on the list but was a no-brainer considering how much use I get out of hexagonal glitter polishes and the fact that I hadn't seen anything like it before.

I love this combo but I'm also so excited about using these two beauties in endless ways.

Tropical Fruit Slices Over Flamingo Pink

Flamingo Pink is the perfect summery, tropical colour which is why, even though I've worn it to death, I had to pair it with these fimo slices from eBay.

I loved this look even more than I thought I would. It's not as high maintenance as it looks, lasting much longer than the striping tape did, and I couldn't stop staring at the prettiness.

I feel like I should try these slices out with a different colour next time but this is such a perfect pairing that it will be a challenge to find a better option.

Silver Striped Pink Nails

Pink Flamingo makes another appearance (and there's yet another on the way).

This was my first attempt at using striping tape and it was a little more tricky than I expected but I can't argue with the result. I think it'll also be great for masking. I might venture onto eBay to try some more colours... if it doesn't peel off within a day.

Lilac & Flamingo Pink Ombre (Plus Confetti to Hide the Fail)

This mani was almost a fail but Ibiza Mix saved the day by hiding the unevenness and obvious sponge marks. I've since read about some different techniques to create the gradient effect that will hopefully work a little better. I just went crazy with Pink Flamingo and a cosmetic sponge without really thinking and ended up with weird sponge marks on the nails and pink stained skin.

Thankfully, the shimmer of confetti glitter distracted from the fail - Ibiza Mix has proven it's worth already. ;)
