Neon Orange and Black Rhinestones

I've worn a lot of weird colours and designs on my nails without being self-conscious but this... this is BRIGHT.

Models Own Beach Party with opaque black 3mm rhinestones from Michael's.

Even though it's super neon bright and garish, I do love it. Though, next time I'll be trying the black rhinestones (which I should've bought more of) with a white or nude polish for a different effect. Beach Party is from the Hed Kandi collection and I also picked up a couple more from this collection that I'm also loving. The formula of Beach Party is amazingly opaque, by the way.

Butter London The Black Knight and Tart With A Heart

I picked up my first Butter London polishes recently and I couldn't be happier with the colours and quality of The Black Knight and Tart With A Heart (I also have yet to try Knackered).

Firstly, I wore The Black Knight alone for a day or so. I was really impressed with the application, expecting it to be sheer and more of a glitter top coat but it was perfectly opaque in two coats and dried extremely fast.

It's a truly unique shade of a black base with pink, blue and silver shimmer that's really pretty by itself but I picked up Tart With A Heart with the next step in mind...

Now, this one really is a glitter top coat and a very pretty one at that. A pinky gold base with tons of glitter and shimmer of varying sizes and shades. I couldn't wait to top my existing mani with this polish and I wasn't disappointed with the resulting effect.

These polishes may be on the slightly more expensive end of the scale but I will be seeking out some of their more unique shades as I'm so impressed with the formula. I don't think I'd pay so much for their more mainstream cream shades unless I'm completely smitten with the colour but you never know, it may be the start of a beautiful addiction. ;)

Revlon Whimsical

Revlon Whimsical is a sheer light blue base with copper and blue glitter. In other words, a dead-on dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Glitter In The Air (at a fraction of the price, thankfully). I also picked this up in the US as it doesn't seem to be available in Europe - I haven't been able to spot it anywhere at least. For it's first outing I wore two coats over Essence You Belong To Me (creepy name much?), a Tiffany box blue.

In future, I'll probably wear it over a nude or lighter shade to really let the blue glitter show but I'm already a fan. I also picked up Popular by Revlon which is along the same lines as this polish, with a pale milky pink base and subtle shimmer that I would also highly recommend.

Dior Poudre Shimmer in Amber Diamond

This was a long awaited purchase and absolutely worth the wait. Amber Diamond is a super smooth warm gold highlight powder. The product itself is so finely milled that it applies like a dream and the five champagne to bronze tones combine to make a gorgeous gold shimmer. Although I have fair skin and this product is has bronze tones, it's not too dark or too warm for my complexion at all.

I apply the powder with a MAC 109 brush though I imagine any blush brush that's on the smaller side would work well. I can't wait to try each shade as an eye shadow also - the more uses I can get from it, the easier it is to justify the price.

Though it cost a hefty $44, I definitely have no regrets when it comes to this purchase. I don't feel the need to try any other highlight powders in the near future as I've found one that's pretty much perfect.

Broken Glass Nails

This one was just a bit of fun and didn't stay on too long due to being kind of impractical but I'm a fan nonetheless. Essie's Mint Candy Apple was another holiday purchase and so were the "shards" or silver glitter flakes which I found at Sally's Beauty Supply.

These aren't the only glitters I've bought recently so expect to see more in the very near future ;)

Neon Pink and Chunky Pewter Glitter

For some very complicated and technical reason that I don't understand, neons are VERY awkward to photograph. However, I gave it a go and though these photos don't quite capture the brightness, you get the idea.

I've spent the last two weeks on holiday in the US, armed with an extensive shopping list (more to come) and these polishes are two of my favourite purchases - China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy and Sephora by OPI To The Glitter End. The SOPI glitter wasn't on the list but was a no-brainer considering how much use I get out of hexagonal glitter polishes and the fact that I hadn't seen anything like it before.

I love this combo but I'm also so excited about using these two beauties in endless ways.
